A Relationship-Driven Leader: Welcoming Our New Senior Business Manager

We are pleased to welcome Houng Sheng to Neurones IT Asia as our new Senior Business Manager.
With experience across business development, financial consulting, and client success, he brings a practical, relationship-focused approach to supporting customers and growing accounts. In this role, Houng Sheng will work closely with our teams and partners to strengthen client relationships, identify opportunities, and help expand our footprint across Asia Pacific.
To get to know him better, we asked him about his approach to working with clients, building partnerships, and what keeps him motivated.
Sales and business development cycles can sometimes be long or complex. What helps you stay focused and keep the momentum going?
To stay focused across longer or more complex sales cycles, I plan my schedule carefully around different prospects and account timelines. There will always be peak and non-peak periods, so being intentional helps me stay organized and ensure that effort goes to the right places at the right time.
Momentum also comes from staying active. I continue conversations, follow up regularly, and nurture relationships instead of waiting for things to move on their own. Keeping the pipeline healthy and engaging with clients consistently helps me stay connected to their needs and keeps opportunities progressing.
This approach not only keeps me motivated, but also ensures that we are building steady, long-term business growth rather than relying on quick wins.
What makes a partnership truly successful, and how do you nurture long-term value with clients?
I believe a truly successful partnership is one where both parties grow together and make use of each other’s strengths to create meaningful outcomes. It is not just about short-term achievements. It is about building something that remains relevant and valuable over time.
For me, this starts with active listening. I take time to understand what clients are trying to achieve, the challenges they face, and how our solutions can support them. From there, I focus on delivering consistently and following through on commitments. When trust builds, it becomes easier to explore new ideas, uncover opportunities, and support clients in achieving their goals.
By staying close to our customers and being proactive, we can strengthen relationships while also helping the business grow in a sustainable way.
Coming from roles across different industries, what excites you most about stepping into your role as a Senior Business Manager here?
What excites me most is the opportunity to explore different areas of the business while expanding into new market industries. I really value the chance to keep learning and growing through new experiences.
I am especially motivated when I am creating something from the ground up in places where there is little or no existing foundation. Building relationships, opening conversations, and slowly developing them into real opportunities feels meaningful to me.
Being able to work in these uncharted territories not only challenges me, but also helps us discover new ways to support clients and shape solutions that are relevant to their needs.
If you could travel anywhere right now, where would you go?
If I could travel anywhere right now, I’d choose China and spend time exploring the country. I love how convenient everything feels there like the ease of getting food delivered straight to your hotel room and the ability to order almost anything through your phone is amazing. That level of accessibility makes the experience really exciting for me.
